Elf
In the Summer of 2023, there was a horrible animal neglect case in Garner, NC: 200 farm animals were being kept on less than 2 acres and were slowly starving. Many were dead, but some were still alive despite the conditions they were living in. Elf, along with his friend Katie, were both rescued by the Refuge before it was too late for them. Upon arrival at the Refuge, one of his horns was broken and was causing further injury to his neck. It was carefully removed leaving him with one horn that sticks out to the side like a little elf hat! Elf can be on the shyer side, but will quickly warm up when presented with a tasty treat. We are so happy that, after receiving special daily care for a few weeks, they are both thriving at the Refuge!
