Patrick

Patrick_2000x1500.jpg

Patrick was dumped on a pond with a flock of domesticated ducks. Unfortunately, it is a common misconception that these ducks can survive alongside wild ducks. Most dumped domesticated ducks die from starvation or predation. Patrick’s flock has been slowly getting smaller and smaller and he is very lucky to have been caught by Refuge supporter and animal advocate Tracy Rene Curtis, who will be returning to try to catch the remaining ducks. Patrick arrived at the Refuge with another male companion, who unfortunately passed away from an advanced fungal infection. Patrick’s first day at the Refuge was on St. Patrick’s Day, hence his name. He is very scared and not quite sure where he is yet, but we are so happy to have him here at the Refuge where he will be introduced to other duck friends and live out his life in safety.
