Laurel

Laurel was rescued from a small backyard egg farm in North Carolina. When she and her flock mates were just a few years old, they were deemed worthless to the farmers since their egg production had gone down. A small local rescue saw an ad on Craigslist that said, "Free hens, will be shot tomorrow," and jumped into action. The rescue couldn't keep all the birds, and a group of them came to the Refuge for lifelong safety.
