Hey foodies! Are you looking to expand your culinary skills in the kitchen? Then you won't want to miss The Refuge's upcoming vegan cooking class with Chef Kibri H. Everett! Learn about her below!

Kibri H. Everett has had a passion for food since her childhood. She grew up in South Carolina watching her grandmother cook and bake traditional southern cuisine.

In 2006, she converted to a vegetarian diet then became strictly vegan in 2014. Kibri is a certified Vegan Nutrition Health Coach and holds a diploma in Vegan Desserts from Rouxbe Cooking School. In 2016, she combined her passion for cooking and veganism with entrepreneurism and opened Pure Juicery & Vegan Food Bar.

In 2021, Kibri founded her first mobile vegan restaurant, a food truck called Epic Vegan, and serves everything from vegan chick’n and seafood to vegan donuts and milkshakes.

Q&A

Can I purchase tickets when I arrive?

Tickets can only be purchased online before the day of the event, as there is a limited quantity.

How do I get there and where can I park?

Please park in our new Pavilion entrance and forest parking lot. Use 7432 NC-87N, Pittsboro, NC 27312 for GPS, and pull into large gravel road next to the mailbox at 7432 (there you will see a purple ‘PARKING’ sign and our large Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge sign).

Can I bring my dog to the class?

No, companion animals of any kind are not permitted on the grounds for safety purposes. We also do not allow companion animals to be left in vehicles. Please leave your pup at home.

If it rains will the class be rescheduled?

We hold our events rain or shine! The class will be held under our new pavilion. If dangerous weather conditions develop, such as lightning, we will reschedule the event with an option for you to be reimbursed.

How can I become more involved with the Refuge?

We are happily accepting volunteers to help with animal care, cleaning, socializing and other important duties! Learn more about volunteering opportunities: https://www.piedmontrefuge.org/volunteer

I want to bring a donation – what does the Refuge need?

The Refuge is always in need of monetary donations. You can give a donation via check, cash, or card at our check in/gift shop area. Other items that we always need include paper towels, toilet paper, non-latex disposable gloves, raisins, fresh kale, and any Mrs. Meyers brand cleaning products.

What is the accessibility of the Refuge?

Our tours take place on gravel roads, grass pasture, and other terrains, all of which may not be completely wheelchair friendly. We do, however, have a golf cart that allows for transport around our grounds. Additionally, masks are currently not required outside, but we do ask that you bring one to wear indoors when visiting our restroom. Because of the size of our property, social distancing of 6 feet or more will always be possible. If you have any accessibility needs, we invite you to email us at info@piedmontrefuge.org to make arrangements before visiting.

Please email us at info@piedmontrefuge.org or call us at 919-533-4013 if you have any additional questions!
