GUNDA

Movie Night at the Refuge Pavilion

Join us on Saturday, August 7th, for a screening of the film GUNDA in our new Education Pavilion.

The screening will be held from 7:30-9:30 pm. Vegan concessions will be available for purchase from several amazing vendors, including Stairway to Veggin’ food truck, Dee’s Kitchen desserts, Revolution Gelato, and popcorn from Triangle VegFest!

Tickets are $20 per person, and all proceeds benefit the 120+ rescued residents of the Refuge! Please bring chairs or blankets to sit on. Masks required when not seated.

About the film:

“Where his prior film, the acclaimed epic AQUARELA, was a reminder of the fragility of human tenure on earth, in GUNDA, master filmmaker Viktor Kossakovsky reminds us that we share our planet with billions of other animals. Through encounters with a mother sow (the eponymous Gunda), two ingenious cows, and a scene-stealing, one-legged chicken, Kossakovsky movingly recalibrates our moral universe, reminding us of the inherent value of life and the mystery of all animal consciousness, including our own.”

We are so grateful to our friends at VegFund for covering the screening costs, and at Atlas Production Group for handling AV free of charge!
