Administrative Director

 

 

Responsibilities

• Marketing our programs & events via website, social media, and email

• Creating quarterly E-Newsletters in MailChimp

• Maintaining merchandise and office supplies inventory

• Monitoring, re-channeling, and answering emails sent to general email inbox

• Donor relations, including sending out sponsorship and sustainer packets, maintaining donor records, and writing donor acknowledgement letters

• Fulfilling merchandise orders

• Updating and maintaining various Excel spreadsheets and other records

• Researching animal-related, office, event, and merchandise items to be purchases, as requested

• Assisting with the planning and organization of annual fundraiser as needed

• Cleaning office on a weekly basis

• Taking photographs and videos of animal residents and special events on a weekly basis or as needed

• Organizing and leading vegan food sampling events, including applying for grants via VegFund

• Answering office phone calls

• Planning, advertising, setting up, and staffing special events on and off-site

• Assisting with accounting needs including bill payment, bank deposits, expense reporting, and more

• Volunteer management including updating sign up pages, responding to inquiries, promoting and growing Volunteer Programs, and overseeing Volunteer of the Month and Volunteer Appreciation Programs

 

Qualifications

• Commitment to the mission of the Refuge

• Knowledge of and passion for animal rights issues and veganism is strongly preferred

• Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to interact constructively with volunteers and staff

• Experience working with volunteers is strongly preferred

• Resourcefulness and ability to work independently

• Ability to follow detailed instructions and meet time sensitive demands

• Ability to learn and process new information quickly

• Strong time management skills with ability to multi-task efficiently and meet deadlines

• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Workspace, and social media platforms

• Experience with WordPress, Squarespace, MailChimp, Salesforce, Adobe Illustrator is a PLUS

• Schedule flexibility to meet onsite project requirements; some weekend, evening and holiday hours are required

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

 

Job Specifics

• Part-time permanent position, starting at 25 hours per week

• Starting wage is $12 – $18 per hour based on experience

• Telecommuting may be possible for a portion of weekly hours

• Requires schedule flexibility, including weekends, evenings and holidays as needed
